Terms of Service

1. Scope

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the mobile application "Quible – Quiz & Geo" (hereinafter "the app" or "Quible") and the website playquible.com (hereinafter "the website"), operated by:

By installing or using the app you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The agreement on the use of the app is concluded exclusively between you and Centaurio UG (haftungsbeschränkt), not with Apple. Paid subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store (see section 4).

2. Description of the App

Quible is a quiz and geography app with the mascot "Quib". It offers, among other things:

• quiz games in several formats (e.g. Flag Blitz, Mystery Country, Higher or Lower?, What Came First?, Who Am I?, Trivia, Fact or Fake)
• a learning path with chapters, lessons and boss lessons
• a daily challenge ("Daily")
• a duel for two people on one device
• XP, levels, streaks, chests with rewards and a fact collection
• optional daily reminders

The app requires no user account. All progress is stored locally on your device (see section 3). The free version is financed by advertising (section 6). The "Quible Plus" subscription unlocks every chapter of the path, activates the streak freeze and removes ads (section 4).

We continuously develop the app and may add, change or remove features, games and content, provided the services promised under Quible Plus (every chapter, streak freeze, no ads) remain available.

3. Use Without an Account, Storage on Your Device

Your progress (XP, level, streak, path progress, collected facts) is stored exclusively on your device. We have no access to it and cannot restore it. If you delete the app or switch devices without a backup, your progress is lost. Use the backup features of iOS (e.g. iCloud Backup).

A Quible Plus subscription is linked to your Apple ID and is not affected by lost progress; you can reactivate it via "Restore purchases" in the settings.

4. Quible Plus: Subscription and Payment

4.1 Purchase via the Apple App Store

The Quible Plus subscription is offered exclusively as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store. Your contracting partner for the purchase and payment is Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland ("Apple"); the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions apply in addition. Billing is via your Apple ID.

4.2 Term, Prices, Renewal

• We offer a yearly subscription and a weekly subscription. The applicable prices, term and currency are shown to you before purchase in the app and in Apple's purchase dialog.
• The subscription renews automatically for the same term unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The charge is made to your Apple ID within 24 hours before the start of the new period.
• We currently offer no free trial. Should we offer a trial or introductory offer in the future, its duration and the subsequent price will be shown before purchase in the App Store; when the trial ends, the regular paid subscription starts unless you cancel beforehand.
• Price changes for an existing subscription are announced to you in advance by Apple; depending on the amount of the change, your express consent is required, otherwise the subscription ends with the current period.

4.3 Management and Cancellation

You can manage and cancel the subscription at any time in the iOS settings: iOS Settings → your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → Quible Plus → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; Quible Plus stays active until then. No pro-rata refund is made for the remainder of the period, to the extent permitted by law. A cancellation button under § 312k BGB (German Civil Code) is not required because the subscription is concluded exclusively through the Apple App Store, not via our website.

4.4 Restoring Purchases

On a new device or after reinstalling, activate an existing subscription via Settings → "Restore purchases". You must be signed in with the same Apple ID.

5. Right of Withdrawal (Consumers in the EU)

Right of Withdrawal

Insofar as a contract is concluded directly with Centaurio UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (the free agreement on the use of the app), you as a consumer have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded.

Paid subscriptions (Quible Plus) are purchased through the Apple App Store; in that respect the purchase contract is concluded with Apple. Withdrawal and refunds are therefore governed by Apple's terms (see "Special notice for in-app purchases" below).

Exercising the Right of Withdrawal

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Centaurio UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Dr.-Rohmer-Weg 11, 65719 Hofheim am Taunus, Germany, email: support@playquible.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from a contract concluded directly with us, your right to use the app ends. Since the usage agreement is free of charge, there are no payments to refund. Payments for in-app purchases are collected by Apple and, in the event of a refund, are also refunded by Apple; the following special notice applies.

Special Notice for In-App Purchases

For in-app purchases via the Apple App Store, Apple's withdrawal and refund conditions apply. Under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions you may cancel an order within fourteen days of receiving your receipt without giving any reason; you request refunds via your Apple account or at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Please note that the right of withdrawal for digital content expires once delivery has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.

6. Advertising and Rewarded Ads

The free version of Quible shows third-party advertising (Google AdMob). In addition, you can voluntarily watch "rewarded ads" to obtain in-game benefits (e.g. an extra life, double XP, a free clue). The following applies:

• The reward is credited only if the ad has been watched completely and the ad provider confirms this.
• Whether a rewarded ad is available depends on the ad provider and your internet connection. There is no entitlement to the availability of ads or rewards.
• Rewards have no monetary value and cannot be paid out, transferred or sold.
• The respective advertiser is responsible for the content of the ads. We serve only ads with content rating "G" (suitable for all audiences).

With Quible Plus no ads are shown; benefits from rewarded ads that substitute for ad-free use (e.g. double XP) no longer apply, and you receive the extra life without an ad.

7. Quiz Content, Chests and Virtual Rewards

• The quiz content is carefully researched and reviewed regularly. Quible is intended for entertainment and general education; we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current and error-free at all times. We welcome reports of errors at support@playquible.com.
• XP, levels, streaks, chests, facts and other virtual rewards are purely game elements. They cannot be bought for money, have no monetary value and create no claim to continued existence, transfer or payout. Chests are earned solely through game progress; their content does not depend on chance in exchange for payment.
• The streak freeze (part of Quible Plus) protects the daily streak according to the rules described in the app; when the subscription expires, the protection is deactivated.

8. Rules of Use

You may use the app only for private, non-commercial purposes and within applicable law. In particular, you may not:

• copy, distribute, make publicly available or commercially exploit the app or its content
• decompile or reverse engineer the app or extract its source code, except where expressly permitted by law
• circumvent or manipulate ads, paywalls or game mechanics by technical means
• use the app with automated systems or trigger ads automatically

9. Intellectual Property and License

The app, including all content, games, texts, graphics, the mascot "Quib", trademarks and logos, is the property of Centaurio UG (haftungsbeschränkt) or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and unfair competition law.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms and the Usage Rules of the Apple App Store. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. Updates and Availability

We provide updates necessary for the security and functionality of the app for as long as we offer the app in the App Store (§ 327f BGB, where applicable). The app requires a supported iOS version; system requirements are listed in the App Store. Ads, offer screens and subscription status checks require an internet connection; playing itself works offline. We do not owe any particular availability of third-party services (App Store, ad networks).

11. Liability

Unlimited liability. We are liable without limitation for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health caused by a negligent or intentional breach of duty by us, our legal representatives or vicarious agents. We are also liable without limitation for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, under the German Product Liability Act and in the event of fraudulent concealment of a defect.

Material contractual obligations. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of material contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract. Material contractual obligations are those whose fulfillment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely.

Other liability. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

Data loss. We are liable for the loss of game progress only to the extent that the loss would not have been avoided by regular backups using the means provided by iOS.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms where necessary for legal reasons or due to changes to the app or our service providers. We will inform you of material changes in the app with reasonable notice before they take effect. If you do not agree with the changes, you can delete the app and cancel a subscription; continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance, which we will point out separately in the notice.

13. Provisions for the Benefit of Apple

The app is distributed via the Apple App Store. The following therefore applies in addition:

1. These Terms are concluded exclusively between you and Centaurio UG (haftungsbeschränkt), not with Apple. We alone are responsible for the app and its content.
2. The license is limited to use of the app on Apple devices that you own or control, within the Usage Rules of the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including Family Sharing where offered).
3. We alone are responsible for maintenance and support; Apple has no obligation to provide them.
4. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price to you where applicable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; any other claims are governed by these Terms and directed at us.
5. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app (e.g. product liability, failure to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection).
6. In the event of any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of the claim.
7. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8. Our name and address for questions and complaints are set out in section 1.
9. When using the app you must comply with applicable third-party terms (e.g. the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions).
10. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected. The place of jurisdiction for disputes with merchants and persons without a general place of jurisdiction in Germany is Frankfurt am Main.

15. Dispute Resolution (§ 36 VSBG)

Pursuant to § 36 (1) no. 1 VSBG (German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act), we are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025.

16. Severability

Should any provision of these Terms be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain unaffected. The statutory provisions apply in place of the invalid provision.

17. Language Versions

These Terms are available in German and English. In the event of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
